Lions Upper Basic School for the Blind

Immediately following the establishment of the Siksha Foundation in early 2013, the co-founders Ash Patel and Henry Desai selected the Lions Upper Basic School for the Blind in their hometown of Ndola, Zambia, as the Foundation’s first project. The focus of this specific grant was to improve the school’s clean water supply.

By mid-2013, Siksha Foundation had completed the rebuild of the water supply at the Lions Upper Basic School for the Blind in record time.

In early 2014, Siksha Foundation committed to another round of donations to the Lions School in an effort to help it be self-sustaining, environmentally friendly and most importantly an exceptionally suitable environment for children to succeed. By early 2015, Siksha Foundation was able to celebrate the completion of these Phase 2 improvements, while also providing additional meals and hygienic, cleaning and kitchen supplies.
